The city is also home to the University of Miami, which brings a steady rhythm of parent visits, commencement weekends, and athletics events that generate their own transportation demand on top of the everyday residential and business travel in the area. Coral Gables sits just south of Miami International Airport along US-1, which makes it one of the more convenient locations in the region for airport transfers — short enough that a trip in either direction rarely eats much of a travel schedule, even accounting for the corridor’s daily commuter traffic. That proximity means airport trips and local Miracle Mile or campus trips often get booked back to back in the same day, which is a normal way this service gets used in the Gables.
